Visit the Jewel of Teatown: Wildflower Island is a jewel afloat in Teatown Lake. More than 200 native wildflowers, trees, and shrubs come into bloom throughout the season. Join experienced guides for a tour, providing an in-depth look at the unique ecology of this sanctuary.
Get ready for spring ephemerals! Join Wildflower Island Curator Rebecca Dymes for a talk before our first Open Gate Day of the season. She will highlight what’s in bloom, share botanical information, and touch on the history of this unique plant refuge.
The gates of Wildflower Island are open – come stroll the winding paths and enjoy the beauty of Teatown Lake from a different perspective. Guides will be stationed in the Gatehouse and along the trails to answer questions about the flowers in bloom.
Teatown is home to breeding birds of all shapes and sizes. Many of them rely on cavities in dead trees to build their nests. Children will step into stories as characters in these tales, so come prepared to get called upon to join the troupe of troubadours.
