Do you know what’s lurking in your backyard? How can a phone app help fight the spread of invasive species? iMapInvasives is a collaborative database designed to collect and share information about invasive species. The information that is generated is used to map where these invasive species are and how scientists can effectively contend with them. Citizen Scientists (that’s you!) are an essential part of this puzzle – making a difference with just a couple of clicks! Please join Teatown Educators as we walk you through the iMapInvasives program and introduce you to a few non-native invasive species. For everyone.

Come to the opening night festivities! Whether you are a serious gardener or an eager first-timer, this is a plant sale with farmers market appeal. Besides "first pick" of all the wonderful plants and complementary vendors' offerings, Friday night admission also includes live music, small plates from several local chefs, and wine, local hard cider and craft beer.

PlantFest brings it all together: abundant plant varieties (natives, perennials, annuals, herbs and vegetables), expert helpers and over a dozen complementary vendors offering everything from jewelry and ceramics to handmade wooden bowls and kayaks, farm-to-table produce and artisanal breads, herbal vinegars and bee creams – even knife and tool-sharpening. This year, two fun food trucks will be at PlantFest to serve lunch from 11 - 2.

Community Planting Day

Lend a helping hand by planting native shrubs along Teatown’s Twin Lakes Trail. This project will complete a habitat restoration project started by Regeneron volunteers last fall. No experience required, and all planting equipment is provided. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and bring water and snacks as needed. All shrubs generously donated by patrons of PlantFest. For everyone.
