Year-End Appeal 2021

So many people have come to Teatown over the last 20 months for comfort, to hike our trails in the fresh air, to experience the meditative quiet of the woods, to learn about the vibrant environment around us, and to enjoy the company of friends and family. They are first-time visitors and long-time members; children, parents, and grandparents; summer campers and school classes; from near and far. They have been energized by a walk around the lake or experienced the peace that comes of sitting silently on a bench and feeling the sun’s warmth.

If you are the age of 70 ½ or older, you may want to consider making a tax-free charitable donation to Teatown Lake Reservation through a qualified charitable distribution (QCD). A QCD is a direct transfer of funds up to $100,000 annually directly from a traditional IRA (or Roth IRA), payable to qualified charities. In addition to the benefits of giving to charities you care deeply about, you can use QCDs to satisfy your annual Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from your retirement account.
