Identifying the Butterflies of Eastern New York, Part II: More True Butterflies & Skippers

Thursday, April 23 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Presenter: Rick Cech — author & photographer

Part I covered butterfly ID terminology, along with key features used for identifying a set of commonly confused species in Eastern New York (including swallowtails, pierids (whites and sulphurs), and basic lycaenids (blues & hairstreaks). This time the focus will be seasonal brood cycles, along with additional ID pointers, including elfins, common nymphalids, and skippers.

Bring: Your Eastern butterfly field guide—Rick will be happy to sign copies after the talk.

Who should attend: All levels welcome, from beginners to seasoned butterfliers.
