2026 Photo Contest: Eagles & Raptors of the Hudson Valley

Calling all nature photographers!

Teatown’s Sixth Annual EagleFest Photo Contest, held in honor and memory of Ed Mertz, celebrates the majesty of eagles and other raptors right here in the Hudson Valley. Ed was a devoted scientist, nature lover, and bird enthusiast whose generosity, passion and volunteerism at Teatown were remarkable.  A talented photographer, he had a gift for capturing the beauty of the natural world—an inspiration that lives on through this contest.

Submit your best shots of Bald Eagles, owls, hawks, falcons, or other local birds of prey captured in our region. This year, entries are divided into two categories:

• Eagles of the Hudson Valley
• Raptors & Birds of Prey of the Hudson Valley

Submissions open Monday, December 15, 2025, and close Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET. Winners will be featured on Teatown’s website and social media channels.

Prizes include:

• Teatown membership or tickets to Teatown’s Hudson River EagleFest® 
• Teatown merch prize pack
• Feature in our e-newsletter and Instagram
