Start the season with an autumnal color hike, where we’ll look for the full rainbow of fall foliage. Be prepared for a moderately difficult hike through Hidden Valley. Wear appropriate hiking footwear, bring sun protection, bug spray, water, and a snack.

Leon Shernoff is back for a fall walk. Leon, a respected mycologist and the editor of "Mushroom, The Journal of Wild Mushrooming," will share his expertise on the role fungi play in our ecosystem and the fundamentals of mycology. After a short indoor presentation, he’ll lead a walk to locate and identify wild mushrooms.
Learn about saving local, native seeds with Stewardship & Grounds Supervisor, Rebecca Policello. Participants will collect seeds from native plants in the Teatown meadows, package them up and learn how to plant them in the spring.
Members only meditation followed by a gentle hike around Teatown Lake. Throughout the hike we will focus on using the five senses to relax, be present, and take in nature. After the hike, enjoy a gentle stretching/ chair yoga class.
Let’s put the final summer harvest to creative use. Join our Early Childhood Art Educator Caroline Erb in exploring your creativity using paints made from seasonal plants. Learn about plant parts and the purpose of pigment in the natural world while making your own paint. Be sure to wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy.
