Spring Ephemeral Hike (for families)
As spring warms up, wonderful wildflowers are starting to emerge. This family-friendly hike will explore the short-lived species of the forest floor.

Spring Birding in Central Park (for adults)
Join Charlie Roberto on this early morning walk to catch the waves of migrating spring birds. Spot seasonal visitors as they drop down into the greenery of Central Park to recharge on their way north.

Hidden Valley Hike (For everyone 8+)
Spend Environmental Educator week with us out on the trails, as Environmental Educator Elissa Schilmeister leads us on the Hidden Valley Loop trail for a moderate hike.

Playing with Puddles (for families)
Puddle jumping is the perfect spring pastime, but take your splashing to the next level with art inspired by spring rain.

Eel with Teatown Info Session (Ages 14+)
Learn how to join the team of volunteer eelers in this Zoom info session offered by Teatown’s Marie Roche and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Teatown manages the Furnace Brook site as a part of the DEC’s American Eel Research Project. This requires mostly outdoor field work from late March through May, with very flexible schedules. Volunteers are able to explore local wildlife in the great outdoors while working collaboratively within a team.

Wet & Wild (Families)
Pollywogs and red efts and spring peepers, oh my! Meet the amazing amphibians of Cliffdale Farm and learn what sets these critters apart from reptiles. We’ll model their annual migration to Teatown’s vernal pools by playing a fun game and search for signs of amphibian activity in these temporary ponds. This program involves a short walk, so please dress appropriately for the weather.

After Sunset with Salamanders (Adults)
As spring warms up, our amphibious friends are emerging. Take a night hike to Hidden Valley and explore the secrets within a vernal pool. Wear appropriate hiking footwear, clothing for changeable spring weather, and bring water and a snack.

Spring Equinox Celebration (Everyone)
The season for growth is nearly upon us: celebrate spring in the gardens of Cliffdale Farm with Environmental Educator Caroline Erb and Stewardship Program Manager Eva Giorgi. Decorate a pot, take home native seeds, and plant something for the season ahead in our pollinator garden. Set your spring intentions on a short hike after getting your hands in the spring soil. This program involves a short walk and light gardening, so come to craft, but please dress for the weather.

Eagles Out (Everyone)
Join Charlie Roberto and hit the road. We’ll travel up the Hudson River looking for Bald Eagles before the wintering Eagles head north. This program will involve multiple stops between Croton’s Echo Boat Launch and Peekskill’s Annsville Circle.
