Construction Update: Progress Across Teatown’s Campus

Construction continues to move forward inside the Nature Center, at the new Education Center site, and across the surrounding campus.

Nature Center Nears a Major Milestone

Inside the Nature Center, the project is entering an important finishing phase. Upper-level carpeting and base work have been completed, while crews continue installing flooring, plumbing fixtures, the elevator, stair handrails, gallery millwork, and other finishing details.

Over the coming weeks, the team is preparing for final electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire alarm, and elevator inspections, followed by a preliminary punch-list walkthrough.

Exterior work includes completing the deck along with flashing and trim installation.

Education Center Takes Shape

Work on the new Education Center is advancing from foundation construction toward preparation for the building’s floor slab. Current and upcoming work includes pouring interior footings and piers, backfilling the foundation, trenching for underground utilities, and completing underslab electrical and plumbing work.

After underground inspections, crews will install gravel and insulation and begin roughing in the building’s radiant-floor system.

Improving the Surrounding Campus

Site work is also progressing around the buildings. Crews are completing pathways near the south parking lot, widening the lot entrance, continuing construction of the gabion wall and grading near Blinn Road, and beginning excavation for a rain garden that will help manage stormwater.
