SUMMARY:General Interest Meeting: Hudson River Estuary Eel Project [rescheduled]
DESCRIPTION:American eels are migratory fish that hatch in the Atlantic Ocean and enter rivers as tiny “glass eels” each spring.\nJoin a team of scientists\, students\, and volunteers as we collect glass eels using a net in Furnace Brook\, a Hudson River tributary. Juvenile fish are counted\, weighed\, and released to better habitat upstream\, often above dams. Come learn about the project\, its goals\, and what it takes to volunteer. \nTeatown manages the Furnace Brook site for the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. \n\n\nSign up\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\nPrograms require pre-registration. Online registration available until noon the day before the event. If online registration is not available\, call (914) 762-2912 x110 to register.

SUMMARY:Gallery Reception: Chris Kunze
DESCRIPTION:Chris’ watercolor paintings will on display in the Visitor Center in February and March. Join us for a reception as Chris shares a collection of paintings that he has been creating over the last 20 years — many of which the public has never seen.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n“I have always enjoyed nature as a subject matter. The reference for these paintings are mostly from photos that I have taken and modified\, although some are imagined. The studies of streams and the movement of water seem to lend themselves to the watercolor medium. Local Westchester parks and reservations have been a major source of inspiration for my work. I have made a balance of commercial art\, fine art and teaching over the past 23 years. Recently I have been teaching adult classes at One River Art & Design in Hartsdale\, which I have found to be a great way to share and build knowledge.” \n\nChris Kunze\n - https://www.saatchiart.com/xman
