SUMMARY:Amphibian Monitor Volunteer Info Session (Adults)
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to join the team of volunteer monitors in this info session offered by Teatown’s Elissa Schilmeister and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. \nTeatown has trained citizen science monitors for the annual Amphibian Migrations and Road Crossings (AM&RC) Project for many years\, empowering them to help amphibians in their own communities. This requires evening outdoor field work on high-migration nights in March and April. Volunteers assist local wildlife on their amazing migrations while collecting essential scientific data.  \nFree  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn more

Temperatures are expected to drop well below zero with significant wind chill\, and the sustained winds also present safety concerns for our large tents. \nThe event is now rescheduled for February 14\, 2026. Tickets will be honored for next weekend’s program\, or refunds will be offered to those who cannot attend a rescheduled event. For refunds please email info@teatown.org.  \nThank you for your understanding and continued support. More information will be shared as soon as it becomes available. \nSincerely\, \nYour friends at Teatown \n\n\n\n\nPre-EagleFest online ticket sales are now closed. Walk-up tickets may be purchased on the day of the event. Refunds are available until Wednesday\, February 11 at 11:59pm.\n\n\n\n\nThe 22nd Annual Teatown Hudson River EagleFest® will be on Saturday\, February 14\, 2026. Join us for an all-day celebration at Croton Point Park! \nThe program includes thrilling live bird shows spotlighting birds of prey\, bird walks where you can view eagles through spotting scopes\, heated tents filled with educational displays and exhibits\, activities and games for children\, food trucks\, and more! \nWe look forward to celebrating together with Bald Eagles as they descend upon Hudson River during their annual winter migration. \nPlease note that this event is held at Croton Point Park\, not at Teatown.  \n\n\nAll Aboard the Eagle Train to EagleFest 2026!\nTeatown Lake Reservation and Metro-North Railroad are once again teaming up to bring visitors to the 22nd Annual Hudson River EagleFest® on Saturday\, February 14\, 2026\, with a special Eagle Train to Croton Point Park. Departing at 9:25 a.m. from Grand Central Terminal and 8:58 a.m. from Poughkeepsie\, each train features a dedicated car with a Teatown guest naturalist on board\, offering expert birding insights along the scenic Hudson River. Cameron Swope\, a member of the Teatown founding family and passionate birdwatcher\, will guide the northbound train from Grand Central\, while Kyle Bardwell—board member of the Putnam Highlands Audubon Society and active member of Saw Mill River Audubon and the Ralph T. Waterman Bird Club—will serve as guest naturalist on the southbound train from Poughkeepsie. Guests must purchase a regular Metro-North ticket to Croton-Harmon to ride; Eagle Train tickets do not include EagleFest admission. \nFinding the Eagle Train car: On trains heading north from Grand Central Terminal\, the dedicated Eagle Train car will be the fourth car from the rear\, located near the middle of the train. On trains heading south from Poughkeepsie\, the Eagle Train car will be the last car. A representative will be on the platform holding a sign to help you find the correct car before boarding. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHudson River Bald Eagle Spotting Sites\nEagles can be spotted at many sites along the Hudson River. We’ve highlighted some of the best. Please note that this map is only for personal reference and the locations listed are neither sponsored nor attended by Teatown staff or volunteers. Some sites may have parking fees or visitation limitations\, so please check before arriving. \nSites highlighted in blue feature a warming tent/indoor access and an educator with a scope. Educators can distribute an EagleFest Passport stamp required to be eligible for the top prizes in our drawing! See Passport for more details.
