The season for growth is nearly upon us: celebrate spring in the gardens of Cliffdale Farm with Environmental Educator Caroline Erb and Stewardship Program Manager Eva Giorgi. Decorate a pot, take home native seeds, and plant something for the season ahead in our pollinator garden. Set your spring intentions on a short hike after getting your hands in the spring soil. This program involves a short walk and light gardening, so come to craft, but please dress for the weather.
Lace up your hiking boots and bond with fellow female hikers as we cruise the trails. Each hike’s location will be dependent on weather and trail conditions. Please dress appropriately for prolonged outdoor activity, and be sure to bring sun protection, bug spray, water, and a snack.
By far our tastiest annual tradition! Start your day off with stacks of hotcakes and maple syrup, hot coffee, sausages, and more. Cap off the day with crafts celebrating the magnificent Sugar Maple tree.
As spring warms up, our amphibious friends are emerging. Take a night hike to Hidden Valley and explore the secrets within a vernal pool. Wear appropriate hiking footwear, clothing for changeable spring weather, and bring water and a snack.

Join us for a special screening of The Extraordinary Caterpillar, a beautifully told story that follows one tiny creature through one of nature’s most remarkable transformations. After the film, we’ll roll up our sleeves and start building habitat at home.
Pollywogs and red efts and spring peepers, oh my! Meet the amazing amphibians of Cliffdale Farm and learn what sets these critters apart from reptiles. We’ll model their annual migration to Teatown’s vernal pools by playing a fun game and search for signs of amphibian activity in these temporary ponds.
