Volunteer Training: Amphibian Migrations & Road Crossings

February 13, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

On rainy nights in late winter and early spring, many salamanders and frogs travel long distances from their forest habitat to breed in small wetlands called “woodland pools.” Unfortunately, many are killed by vehicles when their migration pathways cross roads.

You can help!

Volunteers are needed to help these amphibians across dangerous road crossings, and collect data for the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.

Become a real citizen scientist as you learn amphibian identification and are provided guidance on data collection methods and safety measures.

For adults.
