Summer Camp Groups
Discoverers (4 & 5 year olds; entering Kindergarten)
9:00 am–12 or 1:30–4:30 pm
Wake up the senses of the ‘budding’ naturalist in this introductory camp experience. Stories, songs, simple crafts, hands-on discovery and imaginary play all combine to open up the world of small wonders for the youngest campers.
Trekkers (6 & 7 year olds; entering 1st & 2nd grade)
Half Day - 9:00 am–12 or 1:30–4:30 pm
Full Day - 9:00 am–3:00 pm
Trekkers explore field and marsh, woodlands and wetlands habitats while searching for wildlife. Nature crafts, games and stories complement their daily explorations. Choose between a full-day program and a traditional half-day Trekkers.
Bushmasters at Teatown (8 & 9 year olds; entering 3rd & 4th grade)
9:00 am–3:00 pm
The spirit of discovery kicks into high gear for 8 and 9 year olds. Campers learn about the delicate balance in the great web of life by exploring, playing games, and participating in mini-projects on pollution, habitat restoration and wildlife stewardship.
Bushmasters at Cliffdale (8 & 9 year olds; entering 3rd & 4th grade)
9:00 am–3:00 pm
Focusing on people’s relationship to the land, Cliffdale Bushmasters take to the meadows, forests and swamps to learn about conservation. The intimate setting presents an ideal backdrop for small group activities such as primitive tool making, caring for a Three Sisters garden, and wildlife tracking. Children are bused from the Lakeside Parking Lot to Cliffdale each day.
Junior Naturalists (10-12 year olds; entering 5th, 6th & 7th grade)
9:00 am–3:00 pm
Action-packed days of hiking, climbing and field excursions create a memorable experience for Junior Naturalists. By participating in conservation efforts such as invasive pulls, habitat surveys and more, Junior Naturalists are encouraged through knowledge and investigations to care about wildlife and plants.
Hudson Hills & Highlands Explorers (13 & 14 year olds; entering 8th & 9th grade)
9:00am–3:00 pm
Get up and out! Designed for active teens, this challenging adventure camp goes way beyond kid stuff! Explorers travel off-site to explore new places and learn about wildlife management and biological diversity. Past trips have included explorations of rocky mountaintops, salt and freshwater marshes, and visits to the Wolf Conservation Center, Harriman State Park, and more.
