Children’s Birthday Parties

Create a birthday experience your child will never forget at Teatown’s beautiful nature preserve.

Our professional team of environmental educators provides a safe, stimulating, and educational atmosphere for your child and their guests. Your party includes a two-hour indoor space rental, a reduced parking rate for your guests, a program with a Teatown environmental educator, and a special gift for the guest of honor. We’d love to celebrate with children of all ages, but be advised that our programs are for children turning3 and up.

Birthday parties are available to Members at the Family level or above on Saturdays and Sundays only. The available slots are 10am – 12 pm and 2pm – 4pm, plus a half-hour before and after your event for set-up and clean-up. The educational program occurs during the first hour.

All birthday parties must be booked at least two weeks in advance.

Make your booking request below. For more information, please e-mail info@teatown.org.

Birthday parties take place in the Carriage House, which has two restrooms and full kitchen that includes a fridge, freezer, microwave, stove, and oven. You are welcome to use these, but we do not provide pots, pans, utensils, plates or any other food supplies. Your group is responsible for food and beverages, plates, utensils, and decorations. No alcohol, please.

Simple, sturdy tables and folding chairs are provided by Teatown. We recommend but do not supply tablecloths. The typical setup includes two 8’ tables in the center of the room surrounded by chairs, with tables lining the windowed wall for gifts and/or food. More chairs, should you require them, are stored opposite the restrooms.

We suggest arriving a half-hour before your guests to decorate. Balloons and piñatas are not permitted anywhere on the property for environmental reasons. Do not attach anything to the walls of the Carriage House.

Your rental includes two hours in the Carriage House, plus half an hour ahead for set-up and half an hour after for clean-up. You are responsible for clean-up.

The educational portion of the program occurs during the first hour. The Birthday Party Naturalist will collect the children once everyone has arrived. Some of our party options specifically call for adult participation, so please be active in the experience and be mindful of distracting cellphone use or younger siblings.

Teatown’s Nature Store has gift certificates, presents, and party favors for your young nature enthusiasts.

The Visitor Center is open to the public seven days a week, 9am – 5pm. You are welcome to explore our indoor and outdoor displays, including the Raptor Loop, after your party, but please do not allow children to explore unattended.
