Trails open daily from dawn to dusk, 365 days a year

Teatown’s ten trails encompass nearly 15 miles of marked trails.  The trails vary in length and difficulty from easy/novice to moderately difficult and include:

Back 40 Trail (1.5 miles)
This moderate trail passes through an open field before descending into a wetland area where you’ll see lots of yellow birch.  The trail then climbs past many large old beech trees beside a stream to the top of the Back 40 Trail, where you’ll view the Hudson River. There is a spur trail to Shadow Lake.             

Catamount Hill Trail (1.2 miles)
Located on the western most portion of Teatown’s preserve, this moderate woodland trail is accessed from the Cliffdale Farm parking lot on Teatown Road.

Cliffdale Loop Trail (1.7 miles)
This moderate trail offers hikers a pleasant walk through pastures and mature forest.  Hikers can access this trail from the Cliffdale Farm parking lot on Teatown Road.

Cliffdale/Teatown Trail (1.2 miles)
A moderate hike though Griffin Swamp with dramatic rock outcroppings.

Hilltop Trail (.4 miles)
This moderate hike takes you through some spectacular woodlands.

Hidden Valley Trail (1.8 miles)
Moderate trail that takes hikers past vernal ponds and cascading streams and through a blue bird meadow, red-maple wetlands and a spectacular grove of Mountains Laurels, which blooms in June. 

Lakeside Overlook Trail (.2 miles)
This is a scenic alternate trail around Teatown Lake.

Lakeside Trail (1.5 miles)
This easy and enjoyable trail, which circles Teatown Lake, is popular with families with small children.

Northwest Trail (1.2 miles)
Hikers enjoy a babbling brook, cascading waterfalls and beautiful rock outcroppings on this moderate hike through Griffin Swamp. There is a steep ascent up Teatown Hill with an open view east and west along the powerline cut.  The trail descends to Lakeside Trail. The trail connects to the Briarcliff Peekskill Trailway and the Croton Aqueduct Trail. 

Overlook Tail (.9 miles)
On this moderate trail, hikers will view a blueberry field and old hemlock grove; during winter, hikers have a magnificent view of Hidden Valley.

Pine Grove Trail (.1 miles)
This is a short, pine forest shaded trail.

Shadow Lake Trail (1.4 miles)
This is a challenging, wooded trail with a view of a private lake.

Spencer Nature Trail (.2 miles)

This trial is near the nature center and has interpretive signs throughout. Hikers will
enjoy a beautiful view of Teatown Lake and water fowl along the way.

Waterfall Trail (.3 miles)
Along this trail, hikers will enjoy a scenic waterfall in the woods.
