The Teatown Landowners Alliance (TLA) is a community-based environmental stewardship initiative aimed at protecting Teatown and the surrounding area. The broad goal of the TLA is to protect the local environment by creating a partnership between Teatown and the surrounding neighborhood. Teatown staff work with TLA participants to identify threats to the ecological health of the TLA area and then determine measures that can be implemented to address these threats.

The TLA provides a variety of educational (e.g., online resource library, seminars and discussion groups) and social opportunities to help participants connect with neighbors and make nature-friendly choices when caring for their property.

We also hope that the TLA will serve as a model for fostering a cooperative relationship between other protected areas and their surrounding landowners.

If you have any questions or would like to learn more about this program, contact the TLA Director, Dr. Mike Rubbo at mrubbo@teatown.org or 914-762-2912 (ext. 117).

All individuals living within 0.75 miles of Teatown’s borders are invited to participate in this free program. The area was chosen because it contains lands that are tied to Teatown in an ecologically-meaningful manner. This area also contains the entire watershed of Teatown Lake.
