Dear Friends of Teatown,
Monday, June 30, is the first day of Teatown Summer Nature Camp 2009! Over an 8-week period, more than 500 youngsters will traverse our trails, scoop aquatic organisms from our lakes and stream, walk the meadows of Cliffdale Farm, and explore the Hudson Hills and Highlands.
Each summer, our camp fills to capacity – and provides us the opportunity to show the campers: the essential connections between nature and people; how to feel at ease in the outdoors; and how to appreciate all the living creatures that share our communities with us. Our ultimate intent is to provide our campers with a solid foundation of ecological literacy – so that our children can develop into the next generation of eco-citizens. Finally, we also insist that summer camp at Teatown is a place where children can use THEIR imagination and have plenty of old-fashion fun at the same time!
This summer, consider taking a summer hike on one of our 15 miles of trails: search for wild creatures and let your imagination go wild -- just as scores of our campers will be doing!
See you at Teatown,
Fred
