WAYS TO DONATE

We invite you to help Teatown realize its mission through a range of donor opportunities: 

CASH and SECURITIES
Your cash donation will be used to help Teatown conserve and protect the diversity of wildlife, plants and habitats.  Gifts of appreciated securities (e.g. stocks, bonds) can benefit both donor and Teatown.

MATCHING GIFT and VOLUNTEER INCENTIVE PROGRAMS
Be sure to check with your company’s benefits administrator . . . many businesses match their employees’ cash contributions and provide a donation to organizations where their employees volunteer.   Your generosity – and your company’s – goes even further! 

ANNUAL APPEAL
When you respond to Teatown’s annual appeal with a gift, your donation is put to good use.  Your donation helps cover the cost of Teatown’s education programs, the care and maintenance of the preserve and its inhabitants and general operating expenses. 

SPECIAL PROJECT OR FUND
Special projects often require special funds. If you are passionate about an issue, an    initiative or have a particular area of interest, then you may wish to donate to an appeal for funding as needs arise. 

ADOPT AN ANIMAL 
When you “adopt an animal” at Teatown, you are providing funds that will be used to care for Teatown’s animals that includesmall mammals, reptiles, amphibians and raptors (birds of prey).   Many of these animals have been injured in the wild, would not survive if released, and depend on Teatown for food, shelter and medical care. 

GIFTS-IN-KIND
Gifts  and  services  given  in-kind  are a practical  way to support Teatown. From simple gardening  carts,  bird  seed  donations, and office  furniture  to  veterinary  or  plumbing services,  the staff  and volunteers  at  Teatown are  grateful for gifts that make their jobs easier or supplement our operating budget.

CONSERVATION EASEMENTS and LAND DONATIONS
As part of your legacy to future generations, you may wish to consider donating land for conservation purposes, or establish easements to help us strengthen our nature preserve. 

HONORARIUM and MEMORIAL TRIBUTES
A gift in someone’s honor or memory affords you a creative opportunity to pay tribute or give thanks to that special family member or friend. 

PLANNED GIFTS
Planned Gifts,  including  wills, annuities, charitable  remainder trusts, life insurance and IRAs, among  others, are graciously accepted at Teatown and recognized in our Gerard Swope Society. 

UNITED WAY DESIGNATED GIVING
Your United Way gift can easily be designated to benefit Teatown Lake Reservation. On your donor form, simply indicate Teatown as your choice.

As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, your donation is fully tax deductible as specified by IRS laws.

Please remember that you should always check with your estate planner or tax advisor to find out what type of gift is best for your situation.
