Central Park Ramble 6:15 am at Teatown, 7:30 am at Central Park West and 77th St. Don’t miss out on this highlight of the birding season! A birding hot spot, the Ramble in Central Park is a 38 acre “wild garden” of rocky outcrops, secluded glades and a tumbling stream that make it an ideal stopover for bird species migrating along the Atlantic Flyway. Bring binoculars and wear comfortable walking shoes. Carpooling from Teatown may be necessary. Free, a minimal charge may be collected for gas and tolls. Join Charlie Roberto, expert naturalist and Teatown trustee, on this free program which is open to adults and children accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration required.

Water Canaries
| Time: | 1:00 pm | | Fee: | M free, NM $5 | Coal miners used canaries to assess the quality of the air down in the mine before they entered. In lakes and ponds the aquatic invertebrates that live there are indications of the water quality. Using nets we’ll scoop to locate these environmental indicators and find out more about them. Pre-registration required. 1:00 – 2:30 pm.
