Teatown Lake Reservation’s mission is to conserve open space and to educate and involve the regional community in order to sustain the diversity of wildlife, plants and habitats for future generations.

We realize our mission through environmental education, stewardship of Teatown preserve, and regional conservation of the Hudson Hills and Highlands. At the center of all our endeavors is teamwork and partnership, because nature conservation and environmental health are possible only when people and their communities work together for the common good.  The Teatown Team is made of our members,  volunteers, board, staff and program participants. Our successes are only possible because of their hard work and dedication to our mission.

In addition, we seek collaborations with other organizations and businesses who share our concerns. For example, in 2007, we collaborated on projects with: Westchester County Parks, New York State’s Hudson River Estuary Program; The Native Plant Center, Hudson Highlands Land Trust, Westchester Land Trust, Pace University’s Environmental Center, Greenburg Nature Center, Wildlife Trust’s New York Bioscape Initiative, The Nature Conservancy, Saw Mill River Audubon, Beczak Environmental Education Center, Constitution Marsh Audubon Sanctuary, BestWeb, Club Fit, Con Edison, PepsiCo, Goldman Sachs, and others.

Teatown is a member of the Land Trust Alliance, Federated Conservationists of Westchester County, Association of Nature Center Administrators, and Environmental Consortium of Hudson Valley Colleges and Universities.
